Mild to Ghost: The Busso Heat Scale
A plain-English guide to our heat levels, from the gentle traditional cure all the way up to the ghost chilli jerky for the brave.
Heat is personal, so here is exactly what our levels mean before you commit.
Mild is all flavour, no burn: the traditional cures, the garlic, the original jerky. If chilli is not your thing, live here happily.
Medium adds a warm, building hum that sits in the background. Think chilli droewors and sticky teriyaki, enough to notice, not enough to need a glass of water.
Hot is the real deal. Chilli biltong brings a proper kick, and the Ghost Chilli jerky is a genuine, lingering burn built on naga chilli. Start small, respect it, and keep some biltong nearby to reset.
